INSPECTION ITEMS

Inspection Scope by Product Requirement

The applicable tests depend on steel category, grade, thickness, standard and purchase specification.

Chemical Composition

Heat analysis is reviewed against the specified grade and material standard.

Examples: Chromium, nickel, carbon, molybdenum and other grade-specific elements.

Mechanical Properties

Mechanical test requirements are defined by product standard, grade, thickness and delivery condition.

Examples: Tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness where applicable.

Dimensional Inspection

Product dimensions and tolerances are checked against the confirmed order requirements.

Examples: Thickness, width, length, diameter, wall thickness, section dimensions and mass.

Surface & Visual Inspection

Surface condition and visible product quality are reviewed against the agreed acceptance criteria.

Examples: Surface finish, edges, visible defects, coating appearance and marking.

Weld & Non-Destructive Testing

Additional testing is included where required by the product standard, order or project specification.

Examples: Ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle or penetrant testing as applicable.

Coating & Product-Specific Tests

Coating and specialized properties are verified when applicable to the supplied product.

Examples: Zinc or aluminium-zinc coating mass, paint film, adhesion or electrical steel properties.

TESTING & MEASUREMENT

Material Testing and Dimensional Verification

Use the inspection methods relevant to the ordered product and acceptance standard. Each check point can be aligned with your material grade, order quantity and project documentation.

Laboratory preparation of steel sample for chemical composition analysis

Chemical Analysis

Confirm the heat analysis against the requested material grade and applicable standard before shipment release. The inspection scope can include the main alloying elements relevant to your ordered steel product.

  • Grade-specific chemical composition review
  • Heat identification matched with the test record
  • Order documents aligned with the supplied batch

Mechanical Testing

Record the mechanical properties required by your order, including the applicable strength values and other performance indicators defined by the product standard or project specification.

  • Tensile strength and yield strength records
  • Elongation, hardness or impact values where applicable
  • Test results listed in the certificate package

Dimensional Inspection

Check the product dimensions and tolerances against the confirmed purchase schedule so your material arrives ready for fabrication, assembly or stock distribution.

  • Thickness, width, length, diameter or wall thickness
  • Section size, straightness and mass verification
  • Inspection points matched with the order quantity
MATERIAL TEST CERTIFICATE

Material Records for Your Steel Shipment

Where MTC documentation is included in your order, the certificate records material identification and the test results required by the applicable specification.

  • Grade and applicable material standard
  • Heat or batch number reference
  • Chemical composition results
  • Mechanical test results where required
  • Dimensions, delivery condition and certificate details
