Colored polyester, SMP, HDP or PVDF finish; provides the specified appearance and selected outdoor performance.
Adhesion and corrosion-control system between organic topcoat and galvanized substrate.
Hot-dip galvanizing on both steel surfaces; coating mass is designated separately from the paint film.
Commercial, forming or structural grade selected for roll-forming and the project load requirements.
Backside organic layer configured for processing, handling or a specified service condition.
Specify zinc coating mass and organic dry-film thickness independently. Confirm substrate gauge before comparing nominal finished thickness between quotations.
Start with mechanical and forming requirements; then define the zinc coating and organic topcoat.
Often considered for common profiling and general fabrication where the application does not call for deep-drawing performance. Confirm the actual base grade and thickness.
A potential substrate choice when press or roll-forming requirements justify a defined forming grade; verify the mechanical properties after coating.
For specified structural profiles, select a grade with contractual yield, tensile and bending requirements rather than assuming commercial quality is adequate.
Share the finished part, minimum bend radius or forming drawing so the steel grade can be matched to the application.
Select the resin family by exposure, appearance, forming demand and the project’s stated performance criteria.
Common entry point for general roofing, wall panels and indoor fabrication. Specify the grade, film build and actual UV/corrosion performance required.
General applicationsA coating family used where gloss retention, surface durability or weathering characteristics are important; performance varies by formulation.
Modified polyesterA higher-durability polyester option for projects requiring defined weathering and color-retention targets. Request the supplier’s declared classification.
Enhanced weatherabilityA premium specification route for demanding exterior architectural finishes when the project calls for qualifying fluoropolymer chemistry.
Architectural coatingAvoid color mismatch by specifying the reference sample, finish and surface appearance alongside coil size.
Screen swatches are only visual cues—not measured RAL references. Final approval should use a physical color chip or agreed master sample. Confirm gloss, batch matching, color tolerance and orientation before order placement.
Color and gloss should be checked using the agreed sample, light conditions and measurement method. A visible computer-screen match is not a contractual color specification.
The zinc layer and paint film are different measurement systems; include both in your RFQ.
| GI coating designation | Nominal coating mass | How to interpret |
|---|---|---|
| Z100 | 100 g/m² | Both sides combined |
| Z140 | 140 g/m² | Both sides combined |
| Z180 | 180 g/m² | Both sides combined |
| Z275 | 275 g/m² | Both sides combined |
For an EN-style Z designation, the number refers to the total nominal two-side metallic zinc coating mass, not the mass per side. Confirm permissible tolerance and applicable substrate specification.
For example, an inquiry might state a 25 μm top organic film and a 10 μm reverse organic film. Those values are example procurement targets, not universal ASTM, JIS or EN minima.

Estimate theoretical coil length from base metal, metallic zinc and organic film masses for planning and quotation screening.
Enter base metal thickness, coil width, total zinc coating mass and total organic dry-film thickness. The tool estimates additional metal and paint mass before calculating length.
Approximate mass per meter = [BMT(mm) × Width(mm) × 0.00785] + [(Zinc(g/m²) + (Top μm + Back μm) × 1.3) × Width(mm) / 1,000,000]. Organic film assumed density: 1.30 g/cm³.
Illustrative calculation only. The paint-density assumption varies by formulation; actual mass also depends on tolerance and production. Packing, core and transport tare are excluded.
A controlled sequence of surface treatment, coating, curing and inspection provides repeatable prepainted strip for further fabrication.
Galvanized coil grade, zinc coating mass and incoming surface condition are selected for the target paint system.
Cleaning and pretreatment support coating adhesion before primer application.
The line applies the specified coating layers and cures them using controlled oven conditions.
Coated strip is cooled, inspected, tension-controlled and recoiled for storage or further processing.
The coil-coating route applies paint to flat strip before cutting or roll forming. Formability depends on the steel grade, paint flexibility, cure and final tooling geometry. Request actual test data when your product requires tight bends or visible architectural surfaces.
One coordinated specification across steel substrate, paint system and packaging can reduce purchasing ambiguity for steel-coil distributors and fabricators.

PPGI is a combination product. The galvanized substrate and organic coating must be specified using the correct technical framework.
| Standard | What it covers |
|---|---|
| EN 10169:2022 | Continuously organic-coated steel flat products: coating designation, appearance, testing and declared performance classes. |
| EN 10346:2026 | Continuously hot-dip coated substrate, including galvanized zinc-coated grades; confirm edition and material designation. |
| ASTM A755/A755M-18(2024) | Hot-dip metallic coated and prepainted steel for exterior-exposed building products. |
| ASTM A653/A653M-25a | Zinc-coated hot-dip galvanized steel substrate when the ASTM route is specified. |
| JIS G 3312:2024 | Prepainted hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheet and strip to a Japanese standard. |
Color consistency and paint integrity matter for architectural appearance; galvanized base quality matters for subsequent forming.
A complete RFQ avoids price comparisons between coils that differ in zinc mass, paint quality or delivered thickness.

Internal product pages may be in draft status. Publish and confirm each destination before enabling public navigation.
Answers to the details that affect coated-coil specification, surface quality and shipment.
PPGI means prepainted galvanized iron/steel. The usual product is hot-dip galvanized steel strip with an organic paint system applied in a continuous coil-coating process.
PPGI uses a galvanized zinc-coated steel substrate; PPGL uses an aluminum-zinc alloy-coated substrate. Both can have color-coated top surfaces, but the underlying metallic coatings differ.
Provide the RAL reference and preferably an approved physical sample. Final shade, gloss and tolerance should be agreed against the production coating system.
PE, SMP, HDP and PVDF are coating families. Select by environment, intended service, forming conditions, available technical declarations and your project specification.
Under an EN-style galvanized Z designation, the number identifies the total nominal zinc coating mass in g/m² for both sides combined. It is separate from organic paint-film thickness.
Thickness descriptions vary between offers. State explicitly whether you need BMT or total coated thickness (TCT), and reference the correct standard and tolerances.
Top and reverse dry-film thickness should be defined in micrometers and by layer/system. Example values such as 25 μm top and 10 μm reverse are not universal standard requirements.
PPGI is widely used as roll-forming feedstock. Forming suitability depends on base steel properties, paint flexibility, bend geometry and line conditions; request specific evidence for demanding profiles.
Discuss MTC scope, substrate grade, zinc coating mass, paint film, color/gloss, adhesion/flexibility and additional inspection requirements with your RFQ.
Coating cost alone cannot establish service life. Compare the system’s declared resistance, its suitable environment, the substrate coating and any stated manufacturer warranty conditions.
Calculate mass per meter from steel base thickness and width plus zinc and paint masses, then divide net coil kilograms by the result. Use actual mill values for purchasing accuracy.
