Grade D36 has 355 MPa minimum yield, 490–630 MPa tensile strength and 21% proportional elongation.

−20°C CHARPYThickness-Based Energy

Minimum longitudinal Charpy energy rises from 34 J to 50 J across the standard plate thickness bands.

CLASS & MILLApproved Production Route

Confirm the producing mill, actual class approval, delivery state and material certificate for every purchase.

Example: 20 mm DH36 plate follows the t ≤ 50 mm reference row: 34 J longitudinal and 24 J transverse at −20°C. Include the nominated class, inspection scope and shipyard plate schedule in your RFQ.

Grade D36 Heat Analysis & Weldability

The selected steelmaking practice may use aluminium, niobium, vanadium, titanium or an approved combination of grain-refining elements.

  • Fine-grain practice verified through the mill-approved process
  • Carbon equivalent or Pcm supplied where requested
  • Heat-specific chemistry and plate condition documented on the MTC
  • Welding parameters qualified for the actual material and project
For class-approved TMCP DH36 / D36 plate, IACS UR W11 Table 3 specifies maximum carbon equivalent of 0.38% for t ≤ 50 mm and 0.40% for 50 < t ≤ 100 mm. Confirm the actual Ceq/Pcm, producer approval and rolling state on the MTC.

Heat analysis is tied to the actual producing mill and certificate. IACS Table 2 defines grain-refining requirements, element limits and footnoted exceptions; confirm any approved chemistry variation with the classification society.
