Review the applicable strip gauge and tensile-test conditions. The commonly quoted 280 MPa maximum yield strength applies to the thicker standard range, rather than every gauge.
| Nominal thickness | Maximum yield strength Re | Tensile strength Rm | Minimum elongation A80 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.35 mm to 0.50 mm | ≤ 320 MPa | 270–410 MPa | ≥ 24% |
| Over 0.50 mm to 0.70 mm | ≤ 300 MPa | 270–410 MPa | ≥ 26% |
| Over 0.70 mm to 3.00 mm | ≤ 280 MPa | 270–410 MPa | ≥ 28% |
DC01 is intended for conventional bending, roll forming and moderate stamping where the purchaser confirms the required geometry and finish.
More demanding deformation may call for DC04 or another forming grade with different elongation and r-value requirements.
Cold-rolled low-carbon steel can develop stretcher-strain behavior after storage. Specify forming timing and acceptable surface appearance.
Specify A or B surface quality separately from the texture code. This distinction is important for visible appliance panels, painting and coated fabrication.
Normal surface quality for general forming and non-exposed components. Confirm acceptable surface defects and the chosen texture for downstream processing.
Improved surface quality for more demanding visible or coated faces. Confirm which side is inspected and the exact acceptance criteria.
| EN 10130 finish code | Surface texture | Roughness Ra |
|---|---|---|
| b | Bright | ≤ 0.4 μm |
| g | Semi-bright | ≤ 0.9 μm |
| m | Normal | 0.6 < Ra ≤ 1.9 μm |
| r | Rough | Ra > 1.6 μm |
Control coil geometry and handling as carefully as chemical and mechanical properties. A complete coil specification reduces processing interruptions and waste.
Confirm nominal thickness and applicable tolerance class to EN 10131.
State master coil or slit coil width, edge type, and acceptable burr.
Provide inner diameter, maximum outside diameter and net coil mass limits.
Choose oiling, inspected side, wrapping and storage requirements.
Provide your conversion drawing, strip width, edge limits and finishing requirement with the RFQ.
Choose DC01 for general sheet-metal fabrication where dimensional precision, surface finish and consistent coil handling matter.
Cold-formed covers, cabinet shells and equipment housings.
Cabinet doors, shelving components and folded steel panels.
Selected non-critical appliance covers, liners and formed housings.
Duct panels, casings and light-gauge formed profiles.
Slitting and cut-to-length sheet blanks for downstream fabrication.
Brackets, shallow formed parts and light structural enclosures.
Estimate running metres and mass per order for your blanking, stamping or service-center planning. Enter the net coil weight, not the shipping gross weight.
Use steel density 7.85 g/cm³ and nominal gauge to estimate how many running metres each coil contains.
Calculation: kg/m = thickness in mm × width in mm × 0.00785. Length in m = net coil mass in kg ÷ kg/m. Use net steel mass only; packaging, oil and gauge tolerances affect delivered figures.
Hot rolled pickled strip is cold-reduced, annealed and usually skin-passed to establish the ordered formability and surface. Final coils are trimmed or slit, marked and packed according to the agreed route.
Coordinate the grade, surface finish and shipment as one purchase requirement. Overall company figures describe the broad steel business, not a reserved DC01 inventory quantity.
Discuss volume requirements through a company with annual steel production of 8 million MT across its overall business.
Confirm EN grade, thickness tolerance, surface criteria, coil ID and net mass against supply availability.
Request material certificates, heat identification and additional tests before finalizing the supply route.
Align coil protection, packing, loading restrictions, destination and documentation with your purchasing team.
Discuss slitting, cut-to-length sheets and handling preparation according to the original coil, surface finish and requested finished dimensions. Confirm processing availability and tolerances in your quotation.
Specify acceptance tests before order placement, including surface-quality level, mechanical tests, dimensional tolerances and any third-party inspection requirements.
Share the coil gauge, finish, tonnage and requested shipment date. We can review available material and possible processing routes before confirming a specific lead time.
Cold rolled surfaces require suitable protection against moisture, corrosion and transit abrasion. Define shipping conditions and receiving equipment when requesting the packing proposal.
Compare DC01 with other cold rolled forming grades and hot rolled input materials. Confirm relevant standards and intended processing before approving a substitution.

Answers to frequent EN grade, surface, formability, dimensional and export purchasing questions.
DC01 (material number 1.0330) is a European low-carbon cold-rolled flat steel grade for general cold forming under EN 10130. It is offered as coil, sheet and further-converted strip subject to the applicable scope.
Both commonly serve general cold-forming applications, but DC01 is specified to EN 10130 and SPCC to JIS G 3141. Their requirements are not automatically interchangeable; compare standards, tests, surface and drawings.
EN 10130 gives DC01 a 270–410 MPa tensile-strength range. Its yield-strength upper limit and minimum A80 elongation depend on gauge, so include nominal thickness in your acceptance criteria.
Yes. A is normal surface quality and B is improved surface quality. State the inspected side and finish code separately to match the appearance requirements of finished parts.
They describe bright, semi-bright, normal and rough surface textures under EN 10130. Surface roughness Ra and its measurement conditions should be agreed where paint appearance or forming friction matters.
DC01 is for general forming. Complex deep-drawn parts may need DC04 or another drawing grade with suitable r-value, elongation and forming validation.
EN 10130 generally applies to cold-rolled flat products of at least 600 mm rolled width and 0.35–3.00 mm thickness. Commercial coil width, ID, net mass and stock depend on the order.
Provide mother-coil or final strip dimensions, edge requirements, tonnage and required EN 10204 inspection document. Processing and inspection arrangements are confirmed by quotation.
Multiply thickness in mm by width in mm and 0.00785 to obtain kg per metre. Divide net coil mass in kilograms by that value to estimate metres; actual delivered mass and dimensions control the final length.
